101 Collins Street RISE
One of Melbourne’s top-tier business addresses and located at the Paris end of Collins Street, 101 Collins engaged MPA to construct their new “full service holistic wellness centre” for tenants to enjoy.
The design brief was to transform the level-five car park into a state-of-the-art fitness, lifestyle and wellness facility. 101 Collins wanted to create a space that would complement and connect their existing end of trip facility and outdoor courtyard.
The space includes two hot yoga and TRX studios with four consulting suites, all displaying bespoke finishes and joinery details. The level-six outdoor courtyard connects to the Wellness Centre via two newly formed structural penetrations and 3D self-supporting glazed skylights. The existing carpark slab had to be reinforced to accommodate the additional weight of the new space.
Development of a detailed delivery methodology allowed the team to carry out heavy structural demolition and reinforcement works without inconveniencing building occupants. The approach also allowed MPA to progress with internal fit out works whilst the skylight penetrations where open and glazing was still in fabrication.
The new facility has been created to fully support 101 Collins’ vision in repositioning their brand to be in-line with environmental changes and solidifying the Wellness Centre as an industry leading facility within an A-grade building.
