MPA was selected through early engagement to work with the project management team to deliver QIC’s new workplace on Bligh Street.

QIC

When Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) secured 1,600sqm across L24 of a premium grade tower at 1 Bligh Street, Sydney with the intention to relocate their existing office to the new space, through a competitive tender we were selected through early engagement to work with the project team, Generate Property Group and Unispace, to deliver the project.

QIC needed a workplace that aligned with their level of service and client-focused business ethos, while featuring Australian products and materials. The project objectives included creating a modern and flexible workplace to create greater opportunities for their colleagues and leaders to foster relationships and collaborate, an agile space that suited activity-based and hybrid working routines to increase engagement, and most importantly, align to their employee wellness and firm sustainability strategies.

The new space offers a warm and welcoming experience for employees and guests, helping to build a strong connection to the brand, purpose and values, for both employees and visitors. And ultimately, is a place that showcases and tells the story of QIC.

In terms of what the space then offers to the team, QIC were after a space that generates ideas, enabling innovation through spaces to collaborate, while also supporting the wellbeing of staff and the environment simultaneously with mindful and locally sourced materials. And it was also a focus to provide a variety of space types to suit all, including spaces to reflect, recharge and socialise. Additionally, in keeping with QIC’s ESG objectives the project is targeting WELL rated workplace and 6 Star Green Star Interior certifications.

The resultant space is light, contemporary and inviting. The elegant design is complete with quality materials, acoustic panelling, finishes and furnishings. Feature spaces include the reception front of house area where the earthy hues invite people in and the high-end tone of the entire space begins (think the European pendant light, plush carpet, stone finishes and timber wall panelling), the spacious and stylish breakout/town hall/kitchen, the inviting wellness room, first aid area and gender-neutral bathrooms. A true workplace of the future, there are spaces to suit every work mode, including focus areas, collaboration zones and both stand-up and sit-down work points.
