255 George Street

We completed the building refurbishment of the iconic 255 George Street, Sydney, creating a renewed destination and experience for its tenants.

In delivering a holistic repositioning of this asset, we have set a new benchmark in the building refurbishment space. Focusing on the ground plane, forecourt, vertical transport, and amenities, as well as on floor refurbishment of 16 floors and central plant upgrade – this project has successfully delivered an enhanced tenant experience, with outstanding amenities to ensure seamless productivity and wellbeing.

A key feature of this project was elevating the overall lobby experience, creating integrated flexible spaces with high-end finishes, which have truly transformed the space. The revitalised forecourt awning was re-cladded and carefully engineered to be installed on the existing substructure, creating an impressive entry statement, fit for this prime Sydney CBD location.

This project has been delivered with sustainability in mind to create a place where people can thrive, whilst maintaining a sense of belonging, balance, and wellbeing at work.

The new common spaces offered at 255 George Street, Sydney were created with wellbeing and a sense of belonging in mind. As part of the overall repositioning of this asset, we were engaged to create multipurpose spaces that would enhance the experience for new and existing tenants.

The lobby has been transformed to include an impressive focus library, creating a space to work and connect. The fusion of high-end finishes including spotted gum timber flooring, solid oak joinery, Italian Calacatta marble and natural Bedonia stone flooring, seamlessly work together to create a unique and inviting space.

This is further enhanced by a site-specific artwork created by Sydney-based artist, Camie Lyons. Titled ‘Thought Forest,’ the three-panelled bronze relief sculpture with a series of branches and leaves, depicts the Australian Bushlands, and conceptually represents the journey made each day by employees and visitors to 255 George Street.

The refurbishment of 255 George Street also reflects our commitment to the circular economy. We consciously commit to sustainable projects and make purposeful choices to reduce environmental impact while maximising value.

The impressive ground floor lobby is a prime example of how materials can be reused and repurposed without compromising on quality. The high-end finishes and custom joinery have been carefully considered to create an amazing space for tenants and visitors.

The repurposed terrazzo stone and calacatta marble was demolished from the original on-floor lobbies and reused to create the joinery bench tops installed to the ground floor area. The demolition of an old ATM and storage space was refurbished to fit a café with an engineered and functional Bi-Fold ‘Grab & Go' feature opening out onto the street.
